Neil
Gaiman is one of those authors who appears once in a blue moon. He, among Roald
Dahl and many other children’s authors, has a profound sense of imagination
that appeals to pretty much every child on earth. When I was young, I used to
listen to a book on tape of “The Graveyard Book” on the long drive my family
took to Vermont in December for Christmas break.
Another
book I would listen to on that drive was “Bunnicula” by James Howe. An adorable
mystery series about a vampire bunny who sucks the juice out of vegetables. It
follows a dog and a cat who live in a family that has just adopted a new pet
bunny. Over the course of the story, strange things begin happening and the dog
and cat decide to investigate.
